A New Kind Of Magic
Interdict: The Post-Empyrean Age » Devlog

Hey folks. :) I wanted to write a small update on something exciting that's coming up in the next build: spellcasting Techniques and Combos!
These new Techs and Combos will allow characters who learn them to cast spells with on the fly modifications such as trading casting speed for power, or changing the target area of the spell. Here's a few examples of what spellcasters can look forward to:
- Quick Cast: A Technique that casts a spell much more quickly than normal, but with reduced effectiveness.
- Wide Cast: A Combo that allows two characters to cast a spell together to increase its target area. A single target spell will instead target a row; a row target spell will instead affect an entire party!
- Enchant Strike: A Combo wherein a back row character bestows the effect of a hostile spell on the weapon of a front row character as they attack: if the attack hits, the spell will be applied to the target with significantly increased effect.
This is not an exhaustive list: there will be other new spellcasting Techniques and Combos available as well. I've been having fun even just testing them out, so I think fans of magic will be in for a real treat.
Until next time, cheers, and good luck on your adventures!
