Getting Close...

We're entering the home stretch on the Necropolis update. All new species and new skill work is complete; the only tasks left are adding in events, testing, and fixing anything that comes up during testing. :)

It's been a couple of weeks since the last update, so I figured it was a good time to drop a few more teasers about what will be coming.

Some of the new species added since the last update include many enemies from the previously unmentioned prison, Eden, where those guilty of crimes of gluttony were sent. In the Post-Empyrean Age, Eden's tenants have devolved into cannibals, and they now roam the streets and buildings of Necropolis, always looking for their next meal. Among these hunters, you may find Ogres: physically powerful fighters who attempt to Stun or KO prey before simply eating them alive, and Spider Shaman, who have used Psionics to alter themselves to have spider characteristics, including slinging webs and a very nasty Poison bite.

What was that about Psionics giving spider characteristics? Don't worry, this is available to players too through the new Psionics: Mutation skill, available from the beginning of the game. In addition to spider traits, you can also gain the wings of a bat, or simply toughen yourself up for increased Max HP.  Sorcery has gained new spells as well in schools such as Vitae Manipulation, which can siphon HP from enemies, or allow you to spend your HP to strengthen your spells and reduce their FP cost.

Non-magic skills have seen major additions as well, most notably in the addition of "tanking" skills that allow characters to intercept enemy actions aimed at their allies. These skills greatly expand the tactical options available, and create many new synergies with previous skills. Some other new skills include Confident Strike (more powerful if you are at full HP when it executes, but weak otherwise), Lethal Attack (charged attack used from hiding that makes a very powerful instant kill attempt on a target), and Three Nerve Touch (a special unarmed attack that, if all three attacks hit, has a very high chance to Paralyze the target.)

Though we're pretty close to a release, I still wish to refrain from giving a date just yet. There is a lot of new content to test here, and I want to make sure I have time to fix any issues that come up.

Until next time, good luck on your adventures!
